Freer airways reduce snoring

When anesthesiologists ensure that the airway is kept open in an unconscious patient, they usually tilt the head back slightly to widen the throat. They also close the mouth and push the lower jaw forward so that the tongue does not fall back as easily. All of these tricks can be used to combat snoring.
It is important how thick the pillow is and how it is used. If the pillow is too high, it is easy for the neck to bend too much and the throat to become cramped. Try for yourself how heavy it feels to breathe with your head bent forward in bed instead of bent back.
Since the vibrations during snoring often cause some swelling in the throat, you cannot always expect the full effect of measures that reduce snoring immediately. It is therefore advisable to try at least a few weeks before dismissing a treatment as ineffective.
This trial period is also reasonable considering that snoring can vary in severity from night to night, depending on body position and variations in nasal congestion, fatigue or alcohol intake.
Snoring gets worse if you lie flat on your back and decreases if you lie on your side or stomach.
Measures that do not provide a complete solution to snoring on their own can provide a significant improvement if they are used simultaneously with other anti-snoring solutions. for example, snoring splint, apnea bite splint, nasal dilator.
